Science has found another reason to eat more fruits and vegetables—eating enough of them could make you a happier person, according to new Australian research.
More than 12,000 people were surveyed twice about how many fruits and vegetables they typically ate—once in 2007, and again in 2009.
During both of those surveys, the subjects also rated their overall life satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 10.
Researchers looked at how each person’s fruit and vegetable consumption and happiness changed over those two years, and found that with each extra serving of fruits and vegetables people ate, the happier they felt.

Happy Couples Are Having This Much Sex. How Do You Stack Up?
You don’t have to get busy in the bedroom every night to keep a smile on your face—or hers. Couples who have sex more than once a week aren’t any happier that those who do the deed weekly, suggests new Canadian research.
In the study, people in relationships who had sex once a week reported greater overall happiness—and greater satisfaction with their partners—than those who had sex less often.
But those who had sex more often than that didn’t receive any additional boosts of wellbeing.

5 Easy Ways To Make Your Mom Happy
A card, flowers, and brunch are the go-to gifts for the woman who raised you, but are they that thoughtful? What does a modern mom really want on the official salute-your-mom day of the year? Stop clinging to the cliché and give her a day she can brag about.
Arrange adventure
Your mom probably doesn’t want to sit around in a rocking chair all day, says Kate Lombardi, author of The Mama’s Boy Myth. “Moms want to have fun and hang out,” she says. So, go for a hike—pack a few beers—listen to live music, hit the bar, or pass the afternoon taking in America’s pastime. You can even suggest a last-minute weekend getaway to the beach or somewhere close by that she’s always wanted to go, says psychologist Peggy Drexler, Ph.D. Think outside of activities you typically do with your mom, and consider arranging something neither of you have done. “To spend time with their sons, moms would definitely try something new,” says Lombardi. You’ll both have a new shared experience and a great story to tell.
